The studio combines learning structures, environmental systems and architectural design in the studio space with each student team's design as the subject of the courses.
Students work 14 weeks in teams of two and presented their work for in depth discussion at midterm, then prepared models and presentation documents of the design which was presented without spoken explanation. The boards had to say it all.
The project for this group of students was a "Mediateque," a library for the 21st century. Student teams developed the space program to address many areas of technology-supported learning and communication.
Many teams included aspects of technology that enable social connectedness ranging from family-sized rooms for Skyping with loved ones serving abroad to smaller group rooms where were music and games can be played really really LOUD!
All projects were sited on a parking lot at the gateway to downtown Bryan Texas.
